About
RCN South West, one of nine RCN geographical regions in England, covers Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Bristol and Gloucestershire.
Our services to members and the nursing profession are delivered by staff based at our Exeter office, accredited RCN representatives in NHS, community interest companies, social enterprises and independent sector workplaces throughout the region, and by local RCN branch activists.
As well as engaging in negotiations on behalf of individuals or collectives of our members in local workplaces, our work involves commenting on and influencing consultations and proposals for change in the region.
We ensure that the RCN's Council and Chief Executive & General Secretary are informed of the reality for members working in the NHS and independent sector to support their roles in influencing Government policy and lobbying. Additionally, we influence the political agenda by talking to MPs and councillors, as well as trusts and independent sector employers in the region.
RCN reps
Being a rep can be one of the most fulfilling activities you can undertake. Fully supported by the RCN at every turn, we will equip you with the skills and knowledge to represent your colleagues and your region.
