Public Health Award

The Public Health Award is open to all registered nurses, midwives and nursing assistants/ health care assistants working in all health care sectors in Northern Ireland. Nominations are invited from fellow health care professionals. Candidates will be required to demonstrate how their project or work contributed to improving or raising awareness of public health in Northern Ireland.
Who can be nominated?
Nominees for the Public Health Award must currently be working in Northern Ireland. Please check that the person you wish to nominate is content for you to nominate them. Nominations must be made by someone who is familiar with the work of the nominee.
How to apply?
Fill out the application form below and complete a summary (up to 500 words) showing evidence of how the project or work has:
- impacted on health or social wellbeing, e.g. early interventions to improve health; building new alliances or taking positive action to ensure that marginalised groups are fully involved in addressing the social determinants of ill health or
- demonstrated strong effective partnerships with individuals, communities and other stakeholders to improve health or
- shown effective use of evidence or research to inform decisions and where possible, influence changes in services or policy. Nominees for the Public Health Award must currently be working in Northern Ireland. Please check that the person you wish to nominate is content for you to nominate them. Nominations must be made by someone who is familiar with the work of the nominee.
