CNO Rising Star Award

This award aims to recognise a registered nurse who has been qualified for less than two years but who, in that short time, has stood out as having improved the quality of their own practice and the area they work in. Nominations are invited from fellow health care professionals. Candidates will have demonstrated the capacity to develop essential nursing skills quickly, innovation and the ability to engage with those around them.
Who can be nominated?
Nominees for the CNO Rising Star Award must currently be working in Northern Ireland and have qualified as a registered nurse in the past two years. Please check that the person you wish to nominate is content for you to nominate them. Nominations must be made by someone who is familiar with the work of the nominee.
How to apply?
Fill out the application form and complete a summary (up to 500 words) showing evidence of how the candidate:
- Is a role model for the nursing profession, providing inspiration and a great example to others
- has improved patient care or services, giving clear examples
- recognises and addresses the needs of patients and colleagues.
