This Nurses’ Day we’re demonstrating the remarkable difference nursing staff make to so many lives, every day.
Nurses’ Day is an annual celebration of the nursing profession held on 12 May, Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
Here are just some of the ways you can get involved this year:
- As Nurses’ Day takes place on Sunday 12 May, we’ll be celebrating with you across the weekend. Take a look at the different events going on in your trust or region.
- We’re encouraging you to share your posts, pictures and events on social media. There are graphics which you can download, then share them using #NursesDay and tagging @theRCN so we can reshare your posts.
- Watch and share our short films being released across the weekend highlighting just some of the stories about the incredible difference you make.
RCN General Secretary and Chief Executive Professor Pat Cullen said: “Each and every one of you practices with care, dedication, professionalism and expertise, improving the lives of thousands of people every day.
“Carry with you the countless expressions of thanks which the public share every Nurses’ Day. They trust our profession more than any other, and understand the value, commitment and expertise of nursing staff.
"The public’s number one priority ahead of the general election is investment in nursing and our health and care systems. Let’s use the support we receive today to help us ensure it is our politicians’ top priority too.”
