RCN to consult members in Scotland on pay offer

11 Apr 2025

We’ll be consulting members on the Scottish government’s NHS pay offer from noon on Wednesday 23 April and until noon on 14 May 2025.

Pay-Offer

RCN Scotland board, made up of your elected representatives, has reviewed the detail and agreed to consult members on the offer for 2025-26 and 2026-27. The offer proposes an increase of 4.25% from 1 April 2025 and an increase of 3.75% from 1 April 2026 across all bands.

Given uncertainty over the rates of inflation over the two-year period, the offer also includes an inflation guarantee. This will ensure the increase in pay each year is a minimum of one percentage point higher than the average Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate for the year.

Julie Lamberth, Chair, RCN Scotland Board said: “It will be up to you, our members to decide if this offer for the two years meets your expectations.

“I would encourage you to review the detail of the offer, work out what it means for you and use your vote when the consultation opens on 23 April.

“As the largest profession in the NHS we want to make sure our voice is heard so please, take five minutes to check that the contact and employment information the RCN has for you is correct.”

The pay offer follows months of pressure on the Scottish government from the RCN and other trade unions and weeks of negotiations. The health trade unions submitted a joint pay claim in January.

The consultation will be run online and, if eligible to vote, you will receive an email with links to detailed information about the offer and to the voting page.
