Aisha’s work has contributed to raising the global position of nursing and ensuring this reflects the diversity and talent of the profession from around the world. Aisha is a prominent, committed and influential global ambassador for nursing who has collaborated closely with the International Council of Nurses (ICN) and World Health Organisation (WHO) as Programme Director for Research & Evidence for the Nursing Now! Campaign.
Her tenacity and passion, particularly for supporting nurses in the early stages of their careers, has been transformational for many, and has led to the creation of opportunities for learning and development that they would not otherwise have had.

The impact of nursing on global population health, economic growth and gender equality must never be underestimated. I continue to be inspired by the thousands of early career nurses from across the world. This honour shines a light on them all and I am truly thankful to receive it.’
