This award aims to recognise those who have shown exceptional promise during their professional education or practice placement, deserving recognition for exceptional achievement during their studies.
Chloe Jackson, a recent graduate from Robert Gordon University, is now working as a Staff Nurse in NHS Grampian, was nominated for the award when still a student.
Throughout her studies, Chole aimed to support her nursing student colleagues and the future nursing workforce through various platforms such as a nursing podcast, a nursing blog, and a recent project called SUNN (Support and Understanding for Neurodivergent Nurses).
A neurodivergent student nurse herself, Chloe challenged discrimination and misunderstanding faced by neurodivergent nurses in practice, founding SUNN to provide support and understanding for neurodivergent nurses. The initiative aims to improve the nursing profession by creating a more inclusive environment and enhancing patient care.
Applauding Chloe on her award win and obvious commitment to her career in nursing, Colin Poolman, RCN Scotland Executive Director said: “Becoming a nurse takes years of study, hard work and dedication. Chloe not only showed exceptional promise during her professional education and practice placements, but also brought about meaningful change in the nursing profession. I wish her the best of luck as she embarks on her nursing career and expect great things to come”.
