Come to your local branch AGM.
You are warmly invited to your local RCN South Yorkshire branch Annual General Meeting and learning event, which is being held on Monday 11 November 2024, from 3-5pm. As part of the AGM, the branch will hold a learning event with a presentation from Anthony Harding on his experience of living with Autism and the work he has been doing with the EDI team and Autism team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. The branch has also invited Louise Haigh MP to attend the meeting.
This year's AGM and learning event will be a hybrid meeting that will take place both in person in the Boardroom Clocktower, Northern General Hospital and also online via Microsoft Teams.
Why is the AGM important?
The strength of a trade union is in its numbers but each and every individual branch has an important part to play in making your union's voice heard. If you attend only one branch meeting a year, make it your AGM and help to set the agenda for you and your fellow local members for the year ahead.
Stand for a branch role
Your AGM is also your opportunity to elect your branch committee members, including the branch Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. Being on the branch committee is a great personal and professional development opportunity. Find out more about each role in the Branch Officer Role Descriptor section of our governance documents here. If you are interested in applying for a role then please complete our online nomination form here by the deadline of 11.59pm on 4 November 2024. You can also nominate yourself for a role at the branch AGM but only if no one else has submitted a nomination by the 4 November deadline above. If you have any queries or questions please contact our Yorkshire & the Humber Regional Team on yhregionaladmin@rcn.org.uk.
