Come to your local branch learning event and AGM.
You are warmly invited to your local RCN North Yorkshire branch learning event and Annual General Meeting, which is being held on Thursday 7 November 2024. The learning event will be held before the AGM from 10am with the AGM following from 1pm until 3.30pm.
'Understanding Modern Slavery' is the theme of the learning event and more details will be published here shortly. Please see the programme below. The event and AGM will be a hybrid meeting taking place both in person at Nuffield Health York Hospital, Haxby Road, York YO31 8TA, and also online via Microsoft Teams.
Programme for the day
10.00am: Coffee/tea
10.30am: Learning event ‘Understanding Modern Slavery’
12.00pm: Lunch
1.00pm: Branch AGM
3.30pm: Finish
Why is the AGM important?
The strength of a trade union is in its numbers but each and every individual branch has an important part to play in making your union's voice heard. If you attend only one branch meeting a year, make it your AGM and help to set the agenda for you and your fellow local members for the year ahead.
Stand for a role
Your AGM is also your opportunity to elect your branch committee members, including the branch Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. Being on the branch committee is a great personal and professional development opportunity. If you are interested in applying for a role then please complete our online nomination form here by the deadline of 11.59pm on 1 November 2024. You can also nominate yourself for a role at the branch AGM but only if no one else has submitted a nomination by the 1 November deadline. Register your attendance

Upon registration, you will receive an email including a link to join the Microsoft Teams meeting on the day. You do not need to have the Microsoft Teams app to join the meeting, you can join using the web browser of any internet enabled device.
