This session will be presented by Jane de Rooy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. It will also incorporate the branch Annual General Meeting.
Depression and anxiety occurs in about 20 per cent of people with long term physical illness, a rate two to three times higher than in those who are in good health. As a result of these co-morbid problems, the prognosis for their long-term condition and the quality of life they experience can both deteriorate markedly.
This workshop will consider the cycle of depression, its signs and symptoms, and outline some practical interventions that all health care workers can utilise to encourage an individual to improve their emotional well-being.
You can book your place on this Learning Event now. The event is free for RCN members, while non-members will be charged £20 + VAT. This fee will be reimbursed if the attendee joins the RCN on the day.
