Choose event information:
Presented by Dan Waldron, Company Director of Communicate 2u, this online session will examine how to improve communication with people with learning disabilities to ensure they get the support they need in the health and social care sectors.
Communicate 2u is a Birmingham-based social enterprise which was set up in response to the number of people with learning disabilities being left isolated from society and unable to get the support they need due to poor communication within the health and social care sectors.
Poor communication in these sectors has been proven to cause unnecessary harm and avoidable deaths for the most vulnerable people in our society.
Communicate 2u’s mission is to improve the communication in these sectors through training, research, and innovation, whilst working collaboratively alongside people with learning disabilities and those who have alternative communication needs.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions after the presentation, and the session will give you CPD hours and a certificate of attendance.
All RCN members including Nursing Support Workers, Health Care Assistants, Allied Professionals, Trainee Nursing Associates, Nursing Associates and students, as well as all membership groups, are welcome to attend.
To register your attendance, please book your place here. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email, which includes the link to join the Microsoft Teams meeting on the day.
