Presented by Marilyn Selwood, a Specialist National Domestic Abuse Trainer and Consultant who works for ManKind Initiative, this online session will focus on what support is available for male victims of domestic violence. It will be followed by a branch meeting.
There are more and more cases of male victims of domestic violence, yet it is often seen as a taboo for men to report domestic violence against them.
The ManKind Initiative is the principal, expert and specialist charity in the UK focusing on male victims of domestic abuse.
Their aim is to ensure all male victims of domestic abuse (and their children) are supported to enable them to escape from the situation they are in. They are gender inclusive, so want all female victims (and their children) to escape too.
There will be a chance to ask questions after this 45 minute session, and there will be a branch meeting immediately afterwards. The branch meeting will give you the opportunity to ask the Branch Committee members questions relating to the branch, and will also give you a chance to get updates on branch activity.
All RCN members including Nursing Support Workers, Health Care Assistants, Allied Professionals, Trainee Nursing Associates, Nursing Associates and students, as well as all membership groups, are welcome to attend.
To register your attendance, please book your place here. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email, which includes the link to join the Microsoft Teams meeting on the day.
