RCN members working for the NHS in Wales, join us for this in-person event, which aims to explore the impact of Corridor care on patients and staff, hear from stakeholders and RCN members across Wales, and to provide evidence that can be used to influence the Welsh Government to act to eradicate corridor care.
This in-person event is aimed at RCN members in all nursing roles who are working in the NHS in Wales.
The aim of the event is to explore the impact of Corridor care:
- its impact on patients and staff across Wales
- to provide evidence that can be used to influence the Welsh Government to act and eradicate it.
On the day we will hear from several guest speakers including the NMC on 'Myth busting the code, how the NMC protects you to protect the patient' and the NHS Wales Executive on the 6 Goals for Urgent and Emergency Care.
We want to explore the impact of corridor care on delivering safe and effective care to the public, and we want to hear from nursing staff who can assist the RCN by providing the voice of frontline staff to influence the Welsh Government to act and eradicate corridor care.
This event is aimed at RCN members in all nursing roles who are working in the NHS in Wales. This event is FREE and lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Registration and lunch available from 12.30pm, with the event starting at 1pm, finishing at 5pm.
The closing date for bookings is extended to 5pm Friday 28 June 2024 – so don’t delay!
What do we mean by corridor care?
Across the UK, we’re seeing the increased demand within hospitals, as well as in primary care, community and social care services, leading to patients being cared for or having consultations in inappropriate settings. These settings include corridors, ambulances queuing outside hospitals and waiting rooms.
