Join artist, Lisa Gornick, in this online session for a fun and easy art-based exploration of nursing and the climate crisis!
The hour-long drawing session is suitable for all levels of experience - the atmosphere will be one of encouragement, easy exploration and generally lots of warmth and fun. The workshop will start off with simple drawing observation games, then will explore different drawing styles while thinking about sustainability and recycling in the healthcare system. You will create drawings that express reactions and feelings towards the climate emergency. Lisa will throw out prompts for drawings to gather your views, suggestions for change, and your dreams and strategies of how to enable the NHS’s pledge to be carbon neutral by 2050.
The ideas, suggestions and thoughts expressed through the drawings created in the workshop will go towards the research Lisa is doing for her live drawing show that will take place in March at The RCN headquarters.
About Lisa
Lisa Gornick is a filmmaker, performer, and artist. She has been running drawing workshops alongside her artistic practice of filmmaking, drawing and performance. She has made three award winning feature films: Do I Love You?, Tick Tock Lullaby and The Book of Gabrielle. Lisa has been creating and performing in live drawing shows for 10 years - this is an innovative form of storytelling, a bit like DIY cinema with projected real time drawing alongside storytelling. These shows have been performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, The Soho Theatre and The Barbican. She draws everyday and you can see examples of all of this on her website: Lisa Gornick.
