Join us for the launch of a new exhibition on the history of health care and nursing in prisons, from the nineteenth century to the present.
Join us for the launch of a new exhibition on the history of prison nursing, from the early nineteenth century to the present day.
The launch event will include a panel discussion on the past, present and future of prison health, drop-in activities and a chance to view the exhibition. Refreshments will be provided.
Speakers include: Donna Goddard, Ann Norman, Sobanan Naranthiren and Liz Walsh.
Doors open at 5pm and the talks/online event starts at 6pm.
This event is in person and online and open to all.

Speakers
Ann Norman is a retired nurse and past RCN professional adviser for nursing in justice services. She previously worked as a prison nurse and as Asst. Director of Nursing within the DH Prison Health Task Force.
Sobanan Naranthiren is the CEO of Breakthrough Social Enterprise; a social enterprise that supports undeserved people to enter the world of technology. He has lived experience of the criminal justice system which has opened his eyes to the suffering and sadness that exists within our prison walls.
Donna Goddard worked within the Health and Justice Service in clinical leadership and service management roles. She is a strong advocate for providing career progression and professional development for nurses working in these settings. Donna’s PhD research explores prison nursing identity from a historical perspective using oral history as her methodology.
Liz Walsh (chair) is the Professional Lead for Justice and Forensic Nursing at the RCN.
