Help argue the case for a retired members' group. This event is being held initially to test the level of interest for retired members' group or groups across the two regions. We will gauge that level of interest first and then decide whether or not to relaunch the group/s next year. Therefore if you would like a group in the future, it's important that you attend this meeting if you possibly can.
Being retired doesn't necessarily need to mean the end of your long involvement with nursing profession. Especially not if you are an RCN member.
In the Northern region before Covid hit we had a very active Retired Members' Group who would discuss issues relevant to both being retired and nursing. We fed in to the National Pensioners' Convention and had information come back to us from those national meetings, so it was a very constructive and lively group with a clear purpose and some very engaged members.
We are holding this focus group with retired members from the two regions in order to ascertain exactly the level of demand for reviving this group, or possibly a cross-regional group.
If you want a regional or cross-regional group dedicated to retired members, then please come and show your support and air your views at this meeting.
Help argue the case for keeping something going if you feel passionately about this and are likely to attend regularly.
