Catherine Barlow, the Lead Midwife for Maternal Medicine at Cambridge University Hospital joins us to discuss her experiences within the field and working with midwives providing many services including pre-pregnancy, antenatal and postnatal care for women who have either pre-existing significant medical problems or medical problems arising in or shortly after pregnancy.
Speaker bios
Catherine Barlow is the Lead Midwife for Maternal Medicines at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. With the launch of CUH as a maternal medicine centre in 2022 this meant that we not only care for high-risk patients in Cambridge but across the East of England. She is proud about being a small part of a huge multidisciplinary team that makes a real difference to patient outcome and experience.
Yvonne Bronsky, the chair of the Midwifery Forum will be chairing this seminar, Yvonne began her midwifery career in 1984 and has been passionate ever since around women’s choices being met and within a setting of their choice. She has worked in all areas within maternity services with her main area of passion being in the community.
