Building our future: shaping nursing student activism

Are you a student nurse who’s passionate about improving things for yourself, fellow students and nursing as a whole? Are you full of ideas about what actions the RCN could be taking and supporting to empower student members? The RCN Activist Academy, founded in January 2024, supports and develops activism across our membership. It’s vital that our work is informed and led by the priorities and needs of that membership. To inform our work around student activism we’re holding this event in RCN HQ, open to all student members. You should attend if you’re eager to build your activism skills and shape future campaigns, projects and training resources. The event will provide you with some foundational organising skills, to improve your activism or get you started. We’ll focus on how to talk to and recruit fellow students, and bring them together to build power, support one another and win change. You will work with others to identify what issues are important to you and fellow students and work together to identify what activities could tackle these, to win change for the nursing profession.
