07 May 2025, 17:30 - 20:00
Choose event information:
Participants will leave this event aware of the importance of preventing the development of skin lesions, how to recognise the early signs of skin cancers and how to make referrals.
Nursing staff give holistic care to their patients on a daily basis and have the opportunity to observe their skin. This session will raise awareness of what may be a suspect lesion.
There will be a talk by Dr Josie Wheeler at 6.00 pm for 45 minutes on the subject of 'Melanoma and skin cancer awareness'.
In attendance will be Nick Elson, a skin care advisor from L’Oréal, and Sarah Carter from Dermal, who will be there with Ceravie samples.
Participants will leave clear about what questions to ask the patient, such as:
- how long have they had the lesion?
- has it changed?
- is it painful?
- does it bleed?
At the end of the session, participants will know exactly when and how to make an urgent referral for further investigation.
