Assaults on nursing staff - no excuse for abuse

This branch event on assaults against staff is open to all East Kent members.
This event will include sessions on what measures employers should take to protect staff, what role the police play, the use of body cameras, staff mental well being and the measures put in place by East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.
It will also look at how the law - Assaults on Emergency Workers (Offences) Act 2018 - has changed to enforce prosecution on those who commit assaults on nursing staff, following activity by the RCN started by a member sharing her concerns at a branch meeting.
This event counts towards 3 hours CPD. Free lunch is provided.

- 13.15pm - 'Supporting positive behaviours - what do we mean by violence and abuse?' - Dr Julie Yanni, East Kent Hospitals Deputy Chief Nurse for Safeguarding, Vulnerable People and Patient Experience
- 13.45pm - 'Supporting your wellbeing' - Rachel Roberts, NHS Senior Wellbeing Development Adviser
- 14.00pm - Ends with CPD certificates.
