Are you an aspiring leader? Or perhaps you are working in a leadership position but looking to refresh and develop your knowledge and skills?
New for 2025, our Leadership Challenge will be an exciting way to put your skills to the test and help you develop. Whether you're an experienced leader, new to leadership, or just considering taking your first steps towards leadership, this challenge could be for you.How will the Challenge work?
We'll be joined by leading experts from across the nursing sector who will help create real-life crisis scenarios that will call upon the skills and knowledge of all participants.
Working in small teams, participants will navigate through challenging workplace situations and learn how to sharply focus their leadership qualities, skills and knowledge to achieve the best outcomes.
The Challenge will be a full day event starting at 9.30am (final timings will be confirmed in due course), taking place at Copthorne Hotel, Newcastle upon Tyne.
How do I get involved?
The Leadership Challenge is open to RCN members working across the independent health and social care sector in Northern and Yorkshire & the Humber regions. This includes nursing staff employed in all settings outside the NHS. You could be a member working in a care home, nursing agency, private hospital, or somewhere else entirely. It also includes members, such as general practice nurses, who provide NHS services but are not employed on Agenda for Change contracts.
To ensure a valuable experience for all, we will be limiting the number of places available for the Challenge. If you're interested in taking part, please click on the red 'Register your interest' button above and complete an expression of interest form by 5.00pm on Friday 16 May 2025.
We will be reviewing all expressions of interest to ensure the allocation of places reflects the diversity of the independent health and social care sector. We will contact all applicants in the first week of June to confirm if you have been allocated a place and invite you to formally book onto the Challenge.
