I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new chair of RCN Cambridgeshire. It is an honour to take on this role and I am eager to work collaboratively with each of you to build a stronger, more connected nursing community.
As we embark on this journey together, my vision is centred on three key priorities:
- Learning and growing together: Continuous professional development is at the heart of effective nursing. I am committed to fostering opportunities for learning, mentorship and skills development that empower us to face the ever-evolving challenges of health care. Through workshops, events and shared experiences, we can strengthen our knowledge and grow as individuals and as a team.
- Fostering equality and inclusion: As a cultural ambassador and advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion, I am passionate about creating a branch where everyone feels valued and heard. Together, we will work to challenge bias, celebrate diversity and ensure that every voice is included in shaping our future.
- Promoting visibility of RCN Cambridgeshire: A key priority for me as chair is to enhance the visibility of the branch across all sectors to increase membership and strengthen its collective voice. A larger more diverse membership base enhances representation, advocacy and influence, allowing the branch to address workplace concerns, shape policies and advocate for nursing professionals more effectively.
I believe that by raising awareness of nursing challenges and opportunities, the branch can better support its members, drive improvements in working conditions and contribute to delivering higher quality patient care across the health care system.
