What’s coming over the next few months?

As we settle into 2025, we have an exciting year ahead, starting with the return of our Lunch and Learn webinars.

Our first session kicks off on 27 February at 12:30pm, featuring Anthony Birmingham and Karen Roberts, your regional Social Care Nurse Advisory Council Chairs.
They’ll be sharing insights into their roles, discussing regional priorities, and highlighting how their work supports health and social care professionals like you.
It’s completely free to attend—we’d love to see you there. Book your place here.

Then, on 25 March, our attention turns to dementia care.
We’ll be joined by an expert panel, including our Professional Lead for Care of Older People, Sally Wilson, for an insightful discussion.
Once again, it’s free to attend—so grab a cuppa and tune in. Secure your spot here.

What’s new?

Members told us they wanted a dedicated space for peer networking, so in 2024, we launched a joint regional network and a regional webpage just for you.
The network has already met twice - once in October 2024 and again in January 2025. New members are always welcome.
Visit our webpage for details on upcoming dates and to secure your spot at the next meeting. You can find more on the Northern and Yorkshire & Humber Independent Network here.

Out and about

One of the most rewarding parts of my role is visiting our IHSC nursing workforce in their workplaces. Recently, we had the privilege of spending time with nursing staff in a local nursing home, hearing first hand about the challenges and triumphs of delivering person-centred care in a residential setting. These visits provide invaluable insights, and I’d love to do more.

If you’d like me to visit your workplace, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to get in touch with me here.
