All NHS staff in pay bands 1–7 are eligible for overtime payments if they work more than 37 hours a week in Scotland or 37.5 hours a week in the rest of the UK. Part-time employees receive standard time rates for additional hours up to 37 hours per week in Scotland and 37.5 hours per week in the rest of the UK.
Senior staff in pay bands 8 and 9 are not entitled to overtime payments.
Overtime pay is based on your basic pay rate and does not include the High Cost Area Supplement (HCAS).
You can request time off in lieu instead of overtime.
