In challenging financial times, it is important to demonstrate the value of services and make well-informed decisions about their sustainability, development and transformation.

This one-day masterclass, which welcomes participants from all roles, grades and levels across health and social care, focuses on enabling strategic and operational decision making based on the best available evidence through the application of the principles of economic assessment in practice. It will provide a broad understanding of principles of economic assessment; and how they inform service transformation and improvement.

Programme aim

At the end of the masterclass participants will:

• understand the principles of economic assessment and the tools and techniques used to apply them in practice
• understand how to be an effective champion of economic assessment within an organisation and realise its potential. 

Learning Outcomes

• Analyse the principles of demonstrating value and economic assessment
• Recognise key language and the most common approaches and their uses
• Outline practical frameworks for understanding and demonstrating value
• Explain and articulate the value of your service to key stakeholders
• Describe your increased confidence for contributing to project proposals and business cases
• Describe how to use demonstrating value to be an effective leader and champion for your service

• Tuesday 2 December 2025 (9.30am to 4pm)

The masterclass is a full one-day event carrying 5.5 cpd hours.
