  • Room 1B, Exhibition Centre Liverpool, King's Dock, Port of Liverpool, Liverpool, L3 4FP
Submitted by the Herefordshire Branch in collaboration with the Education Forum and the Students’ Committee

This event will showcase a collaborative initiative between local hospices, acute trusts, and universities aimed at preparing first-year nursing students for end-of-life care experiences. Through end-of-life simulation sessions facilitated by educators from both health care settings and universities, students gain essential skills and understanding before their first placement. The collaboration has expanded to include a dedicated end-of-life conference for all first-year nursing students, regardless of specialty. The session will highlight the importance of collaborative working, demonstrating how expertise and resources from various sectors can be used to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based training. The initiative, which had positive feedback from students, emphasises the benefits of simulation training, reducing fear and enhancing learning outcomes. This approach, adaptable across specialties, offers valuable insights into improving student experiences and patient care while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
