Using your voice, power and presence in the media and beyond

Against the backdrop of the RCN’s Fair Pay for Nursing campaign and creation of the RCN’s Activism Academy, this session will aim to convey the power and the importance of the media in winning the hearts and minds of the public and influencing politicians, and more specifically, demonstrate how crucial member stories are to achieving this. In addition, the session will help myth-bust some of the common concerns members have about speaking in the media.

This session is a joint venture with the RCN England Regional communication teams and RCN England Boards.

This session will:

• highlight the power of the media in winning campaigns
• address head-on the worries members have about speaking in the media
• empower more members to use their voice in the media and beyond
• outline what media support the RCN provides to members
• attract new member voices interested in becoming media case studies, ensuring they are representative of the RCN’s membership
