This session will engage delegates in a debate about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) as a learning tool for patients, nursing staff, students and lecturers. It will explore the opportunities and challenges of AI in accessing information, creating teaching materials, and supporting both practice and education. As AI technology evolves rapidly, concerns about its accountability and the absence of clear guidance on its professional use are growing. Delegates will contribute to the discussion, sharing their experiences and examples of AI applications in health care education and patient learning. This event, supported by peer-reviewed literature and expert panellists, is relevant to anyone interested in AI, including learners, educators, researchers, and those involved in patient education. Key learning outcomes include understanding different AI tools, discussing their applications in nursing and patient education, and addressing ethical concerns in their use.
