Meet the team
Our team of dedicated staff work across the four countries of the United Kingdom to support the delivery of the cadet program in a variety of places. We work with youth organisations and education providers to develop and deliver the cadet course to young people along their normal activities and timetable.
We also work with health providers to arrange observational work placements which brings together all the theoretical and practical classroom learning.
Choosing a university
Taking the next step into higher education can be a daunting one. There are many things to consider and different routes to take.
Working as a health care support worker
Working as a health care assistant support worker is a fantastic, varied rewarding career in its own right and can also lead to nurse registration.
Routes into nursing
Until recently, the routes into nursing were limited and university degree education was the primary way for individuals to become a registered nurse.
However, the introduction of the nurse degree apprenticeship, the development of the nursing associate role and other initiatives are providing alternative opportunities.

A life changing decision
In the autumn of 2022 the RCN approached me to support the launch of the pilot within Glasgow & Lanarkshire ACF which would allow the RCN cadet team to bring the scheme to Scotland.
