POLICY: Nursing Leadership in Integration - Report of the RCN Chatham House care and clinical governance event

01 October 2014
An RCN report of a discussion with Directors of Nursing and Associate Directors of Nursing on care and clinical governance in an integrated world
This report of RCN Scotland’s nursing leadership event on integrated care and clinical governance (sponsored by the Scottish Government) highlighted two key messages: The first concerned the lack of clarity among senior clinical staff on how issues of accountability and governance are intended to play out under new integrated arrangements. The second message was the clear agreement that professional nursing advice will be essential to the operation of the new integration authorities and that there should be a clear duty on integration authorities to seek this advice.
