PARLIAMENTARY BRIEFING: Scottish Government debate: Taking Scotland Forward - delivering a healthier Scotland 7 June 2016

This briefing calls for a different approach to delivering services to ensure that people get the care and support they need ahead of a Parliamentary health debate on 7 June 2016.

Scotland must look at different ways of delivering services to ensure that people get the care and support they need and new ways of measuring success. The need to shift care from hospitals to the community is widely acknowledged, but on the ground there has been too little action to make this a reality. There will be difficult decisions to take if Scotland is to make its vision of community-based care a reality.
