Social enterprise in 2009

This briefing provides a background to social enterprise and an overview of the right to request policy.
As the government seeks to increase plurality of providers in primary care, we can anticipate increases in the number of social enterprises, nurse entrepreneurs and nurse-led primary care and specialist services.
The RCN would like to see the following questions asked and convincingly answered when there are proposals to set up a new social enterprise. This is because sustainability is key; the goal is for high quality organisations which will be fit for now and the future.
