Qualitative research commissioned by the RCN explores why students might permanently withdraw from their nursing degree programmes. Between November 2023 and January 2024 Community Research undertook a series of interviews and focus groups with current students on pre-registration nursing degree programmes, students who had withdrawn from their degrees and academic and practice based nursing professionals. The findings of this research is presented in this report.
