Our governance
Find out how our governance processes work and how you can get involved
Here at the RCN, we take good governance seriously.
Governance is the system of rules, practices and processes used to direct and control our organisation. Governance tells us who can make decisions, who has the authority to act on behalf of our organisation and who is accountable for how we behave and perform.
Good governance means working tirelessly to improve our culture and making sure our members are represented across all of our governance processes.
This requires:
Setting strategy and direction in line with our overall purpose
Monitoring performance and ensuring accountability
Ensuring that we adhere to our policies and regulations
Promoting engagement with members and stakeholders
As an RCN member, you can get involved in our governance. Put yourself forward for a seat on Council, our highest governing body. Stand for election on a committee or board. Take part in a consultation or suggest a discussion item for Council to discuss.
