RCN Wales Nurse of the Year 2024 interview panels have now all been completed.

Thank you so much to all the nominees that were shortlisted, who have taken their time to meet with our interview panels, it has been a pleasure to meet with such fantastic, dynamic, innovative and inspiring individuals.

RCN Wales have contacted each of the nominators with interview outcomes and finalists have been advised of their achievement.

Final event preparations are now underway and we look forward to welcoming all our invited guests on the evening.

The Royal College of Nursing Wales will be celebrating its 11th RCN Wales Nurse of the Year Awards at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff on Thursday 21 November 2024.

Following essential building work at City Hall, we are delighted to be working alongside an exciting new venue to host the awards that continue to recognise innovation and excellence in practice, acknowledging the outstanding efforts, commitment and achievements made by the whole of the nursing community across Wales.

Nominated nurses, midwives, nursing students and health care support workers must demonstrate a passion for their profession and exemplify distinction in care, leadership, service and innovation. Individuals can be nominated for an award by peers, teams, managers, patients and the public.

Diversity in nominees is encouraged to reflect the workforce in Wales across all areas of nursing; Independent Health and Social Care Sector, Third Sector, NHS, or Local Authority.

They must work providing health or social care under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse, midwife or health visitor and should not be on the professional register (such as NMC).
